Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 oz. red food coloring, 1 tbsp. cocoa, 2 1/2 c. sifted granulated sugar, 1 1/2 c. buttermilk and 1 scant tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after addition. Sift flour, salt and soda together and alternately with the buttermilk.
Mix red food coloring and cocoa together with a fork and add to the creamed mixture.
Fold in flavoring and vinegar; mix well. Pour batter into 3 (9-inch) cake pans which have been greased and lined with waxed paper.
Bake 35 minutes at 350Β°.
