Red Velvet Cake

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring.
Add paste to batter.
Add flour alternately with buttermilk.
Mix soda and vinegar in small bowl. Add to batter.

Bake in three 9-inch pans at 350Β° for 20 minutes.
Let cool and frost.
