Red Velvet Cake

Preheat oven to 350Β°. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Add food color, water and cocoa.
Blend in buttermilk.
Add flour and salt gradually.
Beat until mixed well.
Mix vinegar and soda together in separate bowl.
Stir. (Do not beat the vinegar/soda mixture in with a mixer.) Pour into 2 (9-inch) greased and floured pans.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
When cool, frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
