Cream Crisco and sugar; eggs, mixing well.
Sift flour, salt and soda together.
Buttermilk and flour alternately to Crisco and sugar mixture in thirds.

Pour into 2 greased and floured 8-inch cake pans.
Bake 35 minutes at 325Β°.
