Red Beans and Rice
Red Beans And Rice is an impressive dinner. Made with 8 oz. dried red beans, 8 oz. smoked beef or turkey sausage, sliced 1/2-inch thick, 1 large onion, chopped, 2 ribs celery, chopped and 1/2 green pepper, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cover beans with cold water in a large mixing bowl.
Let soak overnight.
Drain beans and discard soaking water.
Place in large cooking pot with sausage slices, onion, celery, pepper, garlic, parsley and bay leaves.
Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add salt, black pepper, hot pepper sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
Cook 30 minutes longer or until beans test done.
