Red Beans and Rice
Red Beans And Rice is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Made with c. dried red kidney beans, large onion, chopped, garlic, minced, large slice ham, chopped and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Rinse beans; set aside.
In large pot or Dutch oven, saute onion and garlic.
Add clean beans, ham, smoked sausage, salt, pepper, cayenne, marjoram and enough water to cover.
Cover and cook until beans are done.
May need to add water from time to time.
To serve, place cooked white rice on plate and add cooked beans; garnish with chopped green onions.
