Real Peanut Brittle
Real Peanut Brittle is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. raw shelled peanuts, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. white karo syrup, 1/2 c. water and 1 tbsp. margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix sugar, water and syrup in a 2-quart saucepan and bring to a boil.
Cook on high heat until mixture becomes thick (very tight bubbles).
Add peanuts and continue to cook until mixture begins to turn tan in color.
Peanuts may pop.
Stir slowly constantly.
Add margarine; stir until mixed.
Add soda and stir until mixture foams to top of pan.
Add vanilla; stir until mixed. Pour onto greased pizza pan.
Allow to cool before removing from pan.
Use wooden spoon for stirring.
