Cook sugar, syrup and water together over moderate heat to hard ball stage or 252Β° on the candy thermometer.
Stir often. Beat egg whites until foamy.
Add dry gelatin.
Beat until egg whites form peaks.
Slowly beat in hot mixture; continue beating until a test spoonful will hold shape.
Add nuts.
Drop quickly onto waxed paper.
