Boil raisins and water for about 5 minutes.
There should be 1/2 cup juice left after cooking.
Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix well.
Sift flour, salt, nutmeg, baking powder and cinnamon.
Add to egg and sugar mixture.
Combine soda to raisins and add to the dough.
Drop walnut size dough on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
