Raisin Bread
Raisin Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. raisins, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg and 1 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cook raisins in water slowly for 20 minutes.
Cool, drain and save liquid.
Cream sugar, egg and shortening.
Add enough water to liquid to make 3/4 cup in all.
Sift flour, salt and soda.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with liquid.
Add raisins and walnuts.
Fill buttered round bean cans or tomato cans 1/2 full and bake in 350Β° oven for 45 minutes for bean can/1 hour for tomato cans.
