Raisin Bars
Raisin Bars is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1/4 c. sugar, 1/3 c. butter or margarine, 2 large eggs and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Combine 1 cup flour and 1/4 cup sugar; cut in 1/3 cup butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Press into bottom of a lightly greased 9-inch square pan.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
Combine eggs and next 8 ingredients, stirring until blended.
Pour over baked crust.
Bake batter at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
Combine 2 teaspoons orange juice, lemon juice and 1 1/2 teaspoons butter in a small bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
Pour mixture over hot layer.
Cool on a wire rack.
Cut into bars.
Freeze in an airtight container up to 3 months, if desired.
Yield: about 3 dozen.
