Quick Apple Strudel
Quick Apple Strudel is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. sugar and 4 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Cut in shortening and add milk to make a soft dough.
Toss onto floured board and knead gently.
Roll out 1/4-inch thick and brush with melted butter or margarine.
Cover with chopped apples and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Roll as for jelly roll and shape into large crescent on greased baking sheet.
Bake in a 425Β° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
While still warm, frost with confectioners sugar frosting and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Yields 12 (1-inch) slices.
