Pumpkin Pecan Cake
A spiced pumpkin tube cake studded with toasted pecans and fragrant with cinnamon and clove. Moist, autumnal, and hefty enough to slice for a crowd.

Grease and flour a 12-inch tube pan.
Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves.
Cream together sugar and shortening; add eggs and mix well.
Add chopped pecans to dry ingredients, then add creamed mixture, folding together with pumpkin and alternating with water.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
