Pound Cake
Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter or 2 sticks margarine, 1/2 c. shortening, 3 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. lemon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and lemon extract and blend well.
Add eggs, one at a time and continue beating after each addition.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add alternating to creamed mixture with milk.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325Β° or until cake tests done.
