Pound Cake

Separate eggs. Beat whites stiff and add 2/3 cup sugar (taken from the 2 2/3 cups).
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks.
1/2 cup milk.
Beat well, then add egg whites vanilla.
Bake in tube pan at 300Β° for 2 hours.
Makes a large cake.
