Sift flour 3 times.
Last time, add baking powder.
Beat butter and Crisco until creamy.
Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Separate eggs; beat yolks and add to creamy mixture.

Add flour and milk alternately and beat.
Beat egg whites until stiff; add to mixture and beat until well mixed. Put in cold oven at 325Β° for 1 hour.
