Potato Chocolate Cake
Potato Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 2 sq. chocolate, melted, 1/2 c. milk, 2 1/2 c. flour and 1 tbsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add chocolate, potatoes and lightly beaten egg yolks.
Cream thoroughly.
Add milk, alternately with dry ingredients, then add nuts.
Last, fold in gently the beaten egg whites.
Pour into 3 prepared round cake pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
For a moist cake, place pan of water in oven while cake is baking.
Use cake filling sprinkled with nuts between cooled layers and frosting to cover all.
