Put popped corn in large bowl.

Mix sugar, water, syrup, salt, and butter in sauce pan.

Cook until 250Β° or until a few drops form a hard ball when dropped in cold water.

Remove from heat.

Add vanilla and food color if desired.

Pour in thin streams over corn stirring to mix well.

Butter hands and shape into balls or other shapes.

Cool on waxed paper. 12-15 balls (depending on size).
