Pineapple Cream Cheese Pie

Combine 1/3 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 cup crushed pineapple.
Cook until thick and clear.
Allow to cool. Combine cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar and salt.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla.
Pour pineapple mixture into bottom of unbaked 9-inch pie shell; then add cream cheese mixture.
Bake at 450° for 5 minutes; then turn oven temperature back to 325° and continue baking for approximately 55 minutes.
