Begin yeast in warm water.
Combine milk, sugar, salt and shortening.
Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in 2 cups flour.
Beat well. Add yeast mix.
Slowly add remaining flour while mixing.

Shape in a ball.
Place in lightly buttered bowl; turn and cover.
Let rise 1 1/2 hours; punch.
Let rise again for 45 minutes.
