Perfect Pie Crust
Perfect Pie Crust is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. all-purpose flour (lightly spooned into cup), 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. sugar, 1 3/4 c. solid vegetable shortening (do not use oil, lard, margarine or butter) and 1 tbsp. white or cider vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Put first 3 ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with table fork. Add shortening and mix with fork until ingredients are crumbly. In a small bowl, beat together with fork 1/2 cup water, vinegar and egg.
Combine the 2 mixtures, stirring with fork until all ingredients are moistened.
Divide dough into 5 portions and, with hands, shape each portion in a flat round patty, ready for rolling.
Wrap each in plastic wrap and chill at least 1/2 hour.
