Combine sugar, water, syrup and salt in large saucepan.

Place over medium heat.

Stir until sugar has dissolved.

Place lid on pan and turn up heat.

When crystals of sugar have dissolved from sides of pan, remove lid.

Cook until mixture comes to a hard boil.

Add peanuts.

Stir constantly until it reaches hard crack stage (300Β°).

Remove from heat; add soda.

Stir 2 or 3 minutes and pour into large cookie sheet.

Spread very thin.
