Oven-Fried Chicken
Oven-Fried Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. oil, 2/3 stick butter, 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. salt and 2 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Melt butter and oil in a flat pan in a 375° oven.
Set aside. Combine flour and seasonings in a paper bag.
Roll the meat through the melted oil and butter.
Put chicken in bag (3 pieces at a time).
Shake well.
Place coated pieces on a piece of waxed paper.
Coat remaining chicken.
Place chicken in the oiled pan. Bake for 45 minutes at 375° (skin side down).
Using a spatula, turn the chicken pieces and bake 5 or 10 minutes longer.
Use pan drippings for gravy.
