Orange Soda Bread
Orange Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 1/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine flour, salt, sugar and baking soda in a bowl.
Make a well in the center and pour in buttermilk and orange juice; mix well.
Add egg, raisins and orange peel; beat until smooth (dough will be sticky).
Knead lightly on a well-greased 9-inch round layer cake pan.
Cut an X across the top of loaf.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
