Opal's Blackberry Cake
Opal'S Blackberry Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. white sugar, 1 c. butter or margarine, 3 eggs, 2 c. canned blackberries (i use thank you brand in heavy syrup) and juice (as liquid for cake), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift together flour, spices, soda and cloves.
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Blend well.
Add dry ingredients; mix well.
Stir in blackberries until mixture is smooth.
