In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

Add sugar, shortening, salt, egg and 1 cup flour.

Beat for 2 minutes.

Add remaining 2 cups flour and beat until dough crawls up beaters. Cover with wet towel and let rise in warm place for 1 hour, or until double in bulk.

Punch down.

Pour onto floured board and knead until easy to handle.

Shape as desired.

Place in pan and let rise for 1 hour.

Bake at 400Β° until brown.

Suitable for freezing.
