Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and milk, beat well. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices.
Add and stir into batter.
Beat well.
Add nuts and raisins; mix until blended.
Drop tablespoon of dough for each cookie on greased cookie sheet.
Keep 3 inches apart.
Bake at 375Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
