Old Fashioned Tea Cakes
Old Fashioned Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1/3 c. granulated sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Cream butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla. Sift flour, measure and sift again with baking powder, soda and nutmeg.
Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately to creamed mixture.
Chill dough, roll out to board.
Cut with cookie cutters.
Bake on lightly greased baking sheet in 400Β° oven 8 minutes.
Makes about 6 dozen 2-inch cookies.
