Oatmeal Jumbos
Oatmeal Jumbos is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. raisins, 2 1/4 c. sifted flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. soda and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Pour enough boiling water over raisins to cover; let stand 10 minutes.
Drain.
Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves into bowl.
Add shortening, sugar, egg and water.
Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
Stir in raisins and oatmeal.
Roll dough out on lightly floured board or canvas to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut with floured 3-inch round cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Bake at 375Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
