Oatmeal Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1/2 c. granulated sugar, 1 egg and 1/4 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 1-inch apart onto greased baking sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger.
Store in tightly covered container.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
