Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 3/4 c. boiling water, 1 c. uncooked oatmeal, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 stick butter and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Pour boiling water over oatmeal.
Let stand for 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and butter.
Stir until butter melts. Add eggs.
Stir well.
Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add 1/2 package chocolate pieces.
Pour batter into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle walnuts and remaining chocolate pieces on top.
Bake in preheated 350Β° oven for 40 minutes.
Cake is so rich it requires no frosting.
