Oatmeal Chocolate Cake
Oatmeal Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 3/4 c. boiling water, 1 c. uncooked oatmeal, 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 c. sugar and 1/2 c. butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In a mixing bowl, pour water over oatmeal and allow to stand 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter, stirring until the butter melts.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Sift flour, cocoa, soda and salt together.
Add to batter.
Mix well. Stir in half of the chocolate chips.
Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Sprinkle top of cake with walnuts and remaining chips. Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
