Oatmeal Bread
Oatmeal Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. boiling water, 1 c. old fashioned rolled oats, 2 envelopes dry yeast, 1/3 c. warm water and 2 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

In a large bowl, pour boiling water over oats; let stand for 1/2 hour.
Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes. Stir salt, molasses and butter into oats.
Stir in yeast. Gradually add 4 cups flour.
Knead in remaining 2 cups flour. Shape dough in mound in center of bowl.
Cover; let rise in warm place until double.
Punch down.
Divide dough in half.
Shape into loaf.
Place in well-greased loaf pans.
Cover and let rise until double, 1 to 2 hours.
Bake in preheated 325Β° oven for 50 minutes, or until loaf sounds hollow.
