Nutty Holiday Popcorn
Nutty Holiday Popcorn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 qt. (16 c.) popped popcorn, 2 c. salted peanuts, 3/4 c. margarine or butter, 2/3 c. sugar and 1 (3 oz.) pkg. red or green flavored gelatin, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Heat oven to 250°.
Place popcorn and peanuts in 2 ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pans.
In medium saucepan, combine margarine, sugar, gelatin, water and corn syrup.
Cover over medium-low heat until sugar and gelatin dissolve, stirring constantly.
Using candy thermometer, continue cooking to 255° (Fahrenheit, hard ball stage), stirring constantly.
Pour syrup over popcorn and peanuts; stir to coat.
(Mixture will be hot.)
