Nut Lassies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 egg, well beaten and 3/4 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

👨‍🍳 Instructions

Cream softened butter and cream cheese.

Add to flour and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal.

With lightly floured hands, form into a smooth ball.

Using a rounded teaspoonful of dough press into tiny cupcake pans so as to make a shell.

Combine egg, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt.

Mix well.

Stir in nuts and turn into shells.

Bake at 350° for 15 minutes, then at 250° for 10 minutes.

Cool before removing from pan.

Makes about 2 dozen tarts.

I put the nuts into the shells and spoon the egg mixture on top, instead of putting the nuts into the egg mixture.
