Mullins Stack Cake
Mullins Stack Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 3/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
Set aside. Work shortening until soft.
Add sugar, a little at a time, while creaming mixture.
Mix in molasses thoroughly.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Stir in flour combination and milk, alternating. Spoon thin layer of batter, about 1/4-inch thick, into greased 9-inch cake pan.
Bake in preheated oven at 350Β° for about 15 to 20 minutes, until cake pulls away from sides of pan.
There will be 6 to 7 layers.
When all layers are baked and cooled, stack with generous amounts of dried fruit or lightly spiced applesauce. Sprinkle with 10x sugar.
