Mother's Best Fudge Cake
Mother'S Best Fudge Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted, 1/2 c. milk, 1 well beaten egg, 2/3 c. sugar and 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Combine chocolate, 1/2 cup milk, well beaten egg and 2/3 cup sugar in saucepan; cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Thoroughly cream shortening, 1 cup sugar and vanilla.
Beat in eggs 1 at a time.
Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately with 2/3 cup milk.
Blend in chocolate mixture. Pour into 2 paper (wax) lined 9 x 1 1/2-inch round pans.
Bake in moderate oven, 350Β°, for 25 to 30 minutes.
Frost with Chocolate Satin Frosting.
