Mom's Tea Cakes
Mom'S Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3 eggs, 4 c. all-purpose flour and 2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream shortening, gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed on mixer.
Add eggs one at a time.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Mix well, stir in almond extract.
Cover and chill for 1 hour.
Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness on floured surface.
Cut with 2 1/4-inch round cookie cutter.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 15 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
