Mom'S Rice Soup For Whatever Ailed You(Especially Good For Flu And Stomach Upsets) is an easy dinner. Made with 1 small onion, 1/2 c. river rice (not instant; uncle ben's is best), small handful of macaroni, several pinches salt (maybe a bit more) and about 1 qt. tomato juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Butter and very little water. Some salt may be added.
Add at least a quart more water and bring to a boil.
Add rice and cook about 15 minutes (not more or less), then add macaroni and another pinch or so of salt; cook
10 to 12 more minutes.
Stir often.
Don't leave it. Add water if needed.
Now, add 2/3 quart of tomato juice. You cannot hurry Rice
If you don't have 1/2 hour to stand near, don't start to make it.
