Molasses Sugar Cookies
Molasses Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1/4 c. molasses, 1 egg, beaten and 2 1/4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Melt shortening and cool.
Add 1 cup sugar, molasses and egg. Mix well.
Combine flour, soda, salt and spices.
Add to sugar mixture until blended.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Roll in sugar.
Place on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375Β° for 8 minutes or until done.
Yields about 4 dozen.
