Molasses Cookies
Molasses Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1/4 c. brer rabbit molasses or sorghum, 1 egg and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Melt shortening over low heat; cool.
Add sugar, molasses and egg; beat well.
Sift dry ingredients together; add to first mixture and mix well.
Chill.
Then roll into 1-inch balls; place on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375Β° for 8 to 10 minutes (8 for chewy, 10 for crispy).
Remove from cookie sheet; place on wire rack to cool.
Store in airtight container.
