Miss Lou's Tea Cakes
Miss Lou'S Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, softened, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 2 c. all-purpose flour and 1 tbsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add egg; beat well.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Gently stir in vanilla. Drop batter by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350Β° for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool. Yields 5 dozen.
