Mix corn syrup and sugar in large glass container (preferably one that has a handle).

Microwave on High for 8 minutes.

Remove and stir in peanuts.

Microwave 7 minutes.

Remove and stir in butter and vanilla.

Microwave for 2 minutes.

Remove and add the baking soda.

Be very careful, and work fast; the mixture will become very foamy while you are stirring.

However, mix well and pour onto large cookie sheet or Teflon coated pan.

When the peanut brittle becomes hard, crack and place in an airtight container.
