Mazell's Caramel Icing
Mazell'S Caramel Icing is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. milk, 3 c. granulated sugar and 1 stick butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Add 1 cup milk and 2 3/4 cups sugar in a large boiler.
Bring this to a rolling boil.
In a small skillet, caramelize 1/4 cup sugar.
Pour into milk and sugar mix.
Boil, stirring constantly, until thick.
Pour into mixing bowl with margarine.
Beat well. (If too thick to spread easily, add milk 1 teaspoon at a time until right consistency.)
Spread evenly over cake layers.
