Marian's Swiss Steak
Marian'S Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 to 3 lbs. round steak, 1 cup flour, 1 small can cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup ketchup and 1 to 2 tbsp. oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cut round steak into 6 or 7 pieces.
Flour pieces on both sides and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Pour oil in heavy skillet.
Brown steak on both sides.
Put meat in crockpot.
Cook on high for 1 hour.
Reduce heat to low.
Add undiluted cream of mushroom soup and ketchup.
Cook on low until tender (approx. 2 hours).
