Mama's Green Beans
Mama'S Green Beans is an easy dinner. Made with 2 cans green beans or 2 lb. fresh green beans, 1 large onion, chopped, 3 tbsp. oil and 3 tbsp. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Drain cans of beans.
Refill one can with water.
Make a light roux with oil and flour.
Saute onions in roux.
Add the green beans plus one can of water to the onions.
Season to taste. Cover and simmer 1/2 hour.
If using fresh beans, add water and cook the same.
Also, you can cook 2 slices of bacon and make a roux with bacon grease.
Break up bacon and add to beans.
