Mama's Forgotten Chicken
Mama'S Forgotten Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. uncooked white rice, 6 to 8 pieces chicken, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cream of chicken soup and 1 1/2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Preheat oven to 350Β°. Place rice in bottom of shallow, greased baking pan.
Combine cream soups and water.
Pour half of the mixture over rice; let stand a few minutes.
Place chicken pieces on top of rice and soup; salt and pepper.
Rub chicken pieces with butter.
Pour remaining cream soup mixture over chicken and top with dry onion soup mix.
Add sliced onion over this, if desired.
Cover with foil and forget about it for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
