Mama's "Fertilizer" Sweet Pickles
Mama'S "Fertilizer" Sweet Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 7 lb. cucumbers, cut 1/3-inch thick, 2 c. lime, 2 gal. water, 2 qt. vinegar and 3 or 4 drops green food coloring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cook together vinegar, green food coloring, sugar and salt. Put in a bag the whole cloves, mixed spices and celery seed. Bring to a full boil and pour over cucumbers and let stand overnight.
Heat and let cook 35 minutes.
Then fill and seal jars.
