Mama's Butter Brickle Cake
Mama'S Butter Brickle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. gold medal flour, 1 1/4 c. sugar, 3 1/4 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 c. vegetable shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Sift together in large bowl the first 4 ingredients.
Add shortening, milk and vanilla.
Beat vigorously by hand or with electric mixer.
Add 3 large egg whites.
Beat 2 minutes longer. Pour into 2 (8 or 9-inch) greased and floured round pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350Β°.
Cool and ice with Browned Butter Icing.
