Mac-Reuben Hot Dish
Mac-Reuben Hot Dish is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (7 oz.) pkg. macaroni (2 c. uncooked; 1/2 the noodles are enough), 2 (6 3/4 oz.) cans chunk ham or diced corned beef, 1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained, 3 c. milk and 3 tbsp. dijon mustard, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Prepare noodles; drain.
Combine cooked macaroni, ham, pimiento and green onions.
In medium saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour.
Gradually stir in milk.
Cook and stir until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat.
Stir in cheese, mustard and pepper. Combine cheese sauce with macaroni mixture.
Put half in 3-quart baking dish; layer with sauerkraut and top with remaining macaroni.
Garnish with diced rye bread.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
